Change Your Body and Change Your Life

by John Barban

Many things happen to you when you make a dramatic change in your body including:

1. A new level of confidence

2. A shift in your perception of yourself and who you are

3. The presence you will command in any social situation

4. The respect you command from others

5. The things you believe are possible will change

6. Your overall health, vigor and energy

7. The ability to carry the momentum of success into other areas of your life

In this podcast we talk about many of these items with our first place overall Adonis Effect transformation winner Ron Hansen.

Ron shares with us his keys to success and how he won the contest.

We’ll also discuss the difference between working out and training and how every rep of every workout matters.

podcast isn’t working as of 11:15am EST

Ron

I listened to it in media player. Download it and it works fine.

Once again… I save the day from Barban’s technical “non-prowess” … lol

Should be fine now.

That list you wrote above is very motivating! I mostly just want to look good, of course, but I’ll take the other things, too! :-)

great podcast. getting the image you want is easy and now i can see why ron won. he didn’t stray and try his own thing he stuck with the plan. he didn’t second guess it, add or take from it he followed it to the letter. it’s not about having a complicated meal or work out plan its all about balance and keeping it simple.

here’s some food for thought. can you image if we applied similar techniques in our everyday life with work, family and friends? We could be successful in every aspects of life.

great job ron, you deserved it.

Ron

Thank you.
That is exactly what I am working on now. Taking the same level of focus and dedication and applying it to other areas of my life and coaching others to do the same.

High Gravity Theorem #2:

“Your most valuable asset isn’t your time, your money, or even your health… it’s your ‘attention’ and where you choose to place it”

Ron

You are right on the money Brad.

Finally got through the podcast. Awesome job, all 3 of you. Exactly how is a 60 year old woman classified…? Cougar? Mountain Lion? Billy Goat? Great story.

Loved the discussion on training intensity, etc. We do spend a lot of time on the calorie and fat burning side. I think we need to discuss the resistance training aspect a little more as I sometimes question whether or not I am training ‘hard’ enough. Another great podcast.

They’re in shape…a round shape. ROFL!! Good one Ron…and a fun interview to listen to. Good job.

On the progression issue, I use plates that allow me to add as little as 1 lb to an olympic bar, which allows each week to feel the same as last while maintaining the same set and rep pattern with perfect form. Check out PDA Associates online (do a Google search). The founder unfortunately passed away recently but I believe they still sell the “little gems”.

I have found a very inexpensive way to add small weight to the bar – just buy a couple pairs of cheap spring clips – they weigh 1/2# each and cost around $6. If you couple those with 1.25 plates you pretty much have all the increments you need.

Jason

By the way: On that bit about moving the weight too slowly=the weight is too heavy: If we’re doing the 5-8 rep range, we SHOULD be pretty slow on that last rep, right?

I mean, otherwise we’re too light, right?

Just a clarification

John Barban

Correct.

Having a beautiful and perfect body is a dream of many men and women. Achieving and maintaining an ideal body gives attractive personality, self confidence, attraction towards the opposite sex and what’s more it attracts the prospective partner just like that.

We cannot just say “The way I look is what I am” and ignore what others say or feel about our appearance. More than half of our body features can be perfected to be the part of an ideal body. Over ninety percent of the body features could be at least improved. Therefore we need not feel low and rejected. Usually what happens is we give up even without a try. Rather than being lazy and feel rejected is better to give a try and be satisfied with the outcome.
